Sharepoint List: Unable to Edit/Delete Collumn

Hi,

I've created a Sharepoint List, with a number of columns.

I have a problem with trying to remove a column - which is showing in the list view, but when clicking said column, it only gives me the option on Column Settings to: Rename, Format this Column, Move Left, Widen Column, Narrow Column and pin filters.

Checking on the Site List Settings, it simply doesn't show this column.

I can hide this in the show/hide columns - but due to the way we copy the URL for each record, it will show on that.

Has anybody had this before and knows how I can remove the column? I've got around 15 columns, and this is the only one with this problem.

I've had to create another column named PPA Title.

    Dear SMorrison_1111,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Thank you for the pictures provided. From your last picture, we can see the column is displaying as "PPA Title Old**(liked to item with edit menu)**". I would like to explain that this indicates this column is the default "Title" column. This is a system column created with list creation, just similar as "Created", "Modified", "Created by", "Modified by" columns. This type of system columns are not allowed to be deleted.

The original "Title" column can be renamed. It shows new name in the list and "All items" view. However, it still shows its original name "Title" in the list settings "column" area. That is why we couldn't find its current name "PPA Title Old" here. The related column should be "Title" in the list settings.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to correct me.

    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Dear SMorrison_1111,

1, What is the column name?

2, Was it created manually by any user?

3, What is the column type? By checking this, please click "Edit in grid view", check which type of data you are asked to enter. Can you please share a screenshot of the column display and inside data? Please check the picture 1 and 2 below:

4, Can you please go to list settings >> share a screenshot of all "Columns" ? Please check the picture 3 and 4 below:

5, Can you please go to list settings >> "All items" view and share a screenshot of the column in view settings?

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Sophie,

Thank you for getting back to me - see below

1, What is the column name?

    PPA Title Old

2, Was it created manually by any user?

    Yes

3, What is the column type? By checking this, please click "Edit in grid view", check which type of data you are asked to enter. Can you please share a screenshot of the column display and inside data? Please check the picture 1 and 2 below:

This was set up a single line of text. This doesn't show on new item - just the fields I need (note: I have another field called PPA Title - which is correct).

4, Can you please go to list settings >> share a screenshot of all "Columns" ? Please check the picture 3 and 4 below:

This doesn't show the "PPA Title Old" column in this view

5, Can you please go to list settings >> "All items" view and share a screenshot of the column in view settings?
