Please help to resolve this issue:

I created a form in Teams. It has Edit mode, but how to switch it to Fill mode?

I read that you should create a form from existing forms. Is this the only or recommended way?

    Hi Anna

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

When you create a form in Microsoft Teams using the Forms app, you are initially in “Edit” mode, which allows you to add and modify questions, change the form settings, and preview the form. To switch to “Fill” mode and allow others to fill out the form, you need to share the form with them.

Once you have shared the form, others will be able to access it in “Fill” mode and submit their responses. You can view and analyze the responses by going back to the Forms app and opening the form in “Edit” mode.

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas

    Thank you for your reply.

When I click on the forms in Teams, there is no Share option. I assume you're referring to Collaborate/Duplicate option in ... to the right of the screen. So, I copied the link of the form and pasted it in the channel. It is fine, but the name of the form is the URL, not the actual form name as shown 'Fill New Hire Form'. See the 1st screen shot:

The share button won't show as you are still in the “Edit” mode rather than “Preview” mode. To switch to “Preview” mode and access the “Share” button, you can click on the “Preview” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

Once you’re in “Preview” mode, you should see the “Share” button in the top-right corner of the screen. Clicking on this button will open the “Share” pane, where you can copy the link to the form or generate a QR code to share with others.

If you’ve already copied the link to the form and pasted it into a channel in Teams, but the name of the form is showing up as the URL rather than the actual form name, you can try editing the message to change the display text of the link. To do this, hover your mouse over the message, click on the “More options” button (represented by three dots), and select “Edit.” Then, highlight the URL text and click on the “Insert link” button (represented by a chain icon) to edit the display text of the link.

    Hello hello,

I could not exactly replicate the steps you suggested, for example there is no share button in forms Preview; then when I tried to rename the message in Teams Channel to provide more descriptive name for the form, it became unclickable... So my alternative is this, I do realize it has some flaws:

1 - Create a form in forms app (forms.microsoft.com), test it until it is good.

2 - In TEAMS team, create a channel for forms.

3 - In that Channel, add a form from existing forms, so use from in step 1.

4 - Create Power Automate workflow in Teams (I added Power Automate app to Teams). It is a basic flow to send notifications to Team's channel when the form is submitted.

    What do you think?

I think your solution is a good one. Creating a form in the Forms app, adding it to a channel in Teams, and using Power Automate to send notifications when the form is submitted seems like a good way to achieve your goal.
