Authenticator broken

Hello,

I have the following problem: I recently updated my phone to ios 17 and lost all cache.

I had setup authenticator on this device but now it doesnt work anymore.

If i want to login on teams on my device, it still says it send a message with a number to my device, but it doesn't show up.

When going into the settings of my account and going into 'security info' to try to remove this device and set it up again, it tries to log me in using the authenticator app, but that is broken, so i am stuck in a loop.

Is there a way i can reconfigure the app?

Note: its a work mail and on my work pc everything is logged in and i can still do my work, i just cant login on my phone.

Thanks for your help!

Well, thank you for this info but as I expected this does not work.

    The problem stays the same.

Anything i want to do (connect, login, setup, whatever) requires me to approve a sign in request and it tells me to accept it using the authenticator.

Completely garbage, since this is exactly the thing that is not working so i can't even fix anything.

Is there anything else that can be done.

Can you manually delete the device so it restarts the setup process, cause it has no device to send a code to.

I can understand your frustration with the Authenticator app and the sign-in request loop. I wish I could help you more, but I’m afraid I don’t have the authority or the ability to manually delete the device or reset the multi-factor authentication settings for your work account. Only your work administrator can do that for you. I suggest you contact them as soon as possible and explain to manually remove your device so you can re-register it

    Hi Dries

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself no one here is a Microsoft employee.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to remove the Microsoft Authenticator app from your iOS device and re-register it with your work account. Here are the steps:

Remove the Microsoft Authenticator app Reinstall the Microsoft Authenticator app Re-register the app with your work account Complete the two-factor authentication setup

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas
