Data Validation Autocomplete Stopped Working? (Monthly Enterprise Channel)

The September update for the Monthly Enterprise Channel added Data Validation Autocomplete, which has been a fantastic feature, not just for the autocomplete, but for the way that it enables mousewheel scroll on data validation lists. However, I am noticing this morning that it does not appear to function for me, despite no changes in software version. Is there a setting of some sort that I am overlooking?

    Hi Myk,

Thank you for the response! None of these things seem to have resolved the issue. It appears to be a common problem for my coworkers as well, however, some data validation lists appear to still have the new behaviour. Is there some catch with complex data types and/or external data sources or something that causes data validation lists to revert to the old behaviour? I know that all of these lists were working with the updated behaviour after the update, but something seems to be breaking it on some lists.

    Thanks,

    Edit:

My mistake, I actually do not have any lists that are operating under the new behaviour. I simply mistook a different-sized font to mean the new behaviour was active, but it was simply due to differing worksheet zoom levels.

Hi Amy S, thanks for coming into forums. I’m Myk and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

If Data Validation Autocomplete stopped working in Excel after an update, try these simple steps: First, make sure Excel is up to date. If that doesn't work, close and reopen Excel, or restart your computer.

Also, try to disable any extra add-ins that might be causing problems. You can also try fixing Office by going to Control Panel.
