Layout changes when changing from edit to view mode and vice versa Word Online

Been doing reports through Office 365 Word Online but every time I shift from edit mode to viewing mode, the document has too many spaces and if I go back to editing, I see that there's no spacing. It's frustrating to go back and forth on both modes to see how it will look like. I just can't adjust the spaces that it will match how the document appears on viewing mode. It sucks. It gives the impression that it was sloppy done when in editing mode it is formatted correctly. How to correct that?

If you are using spaces instead of tabs to align your text, you should use tabs instead. See http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/SettingTabs.htm
