Split from this thread.

I have the opposite scenario where I have four co-owners on a document via a Teams channel, but I'm the only one receiving the comment notifications on the file. The other co-owners (per the Teams channel permissions) would like to receive these notifications as well.

We ultimately decided to simply have the comments history open for the spreadsheet. That way team owners can still see all the comments, even if they aren't notified. Thanks!

    Hi respected Binaebi Akah Calkins,

Thanks for your valuable feedback and sharing updates with us and I really appreciate your effort and your precious time doing.

And I appreciate your kind words.

To notify owners of teams you may use Power Automate to set up a trigger and an action for sending messages to that channel when a comment is added to the file.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad

Thank you, but this does not solve the problem. We are using Excel to manage work across the team. The team members are updating status by adding comments to the file. We don't need to notify changes on the file, we need to notify all file owners that a new comment was made. So not just the creator of the file, but also the Teams owners of the file, should be notified that someone added a comment. I hope this makes sense.

    Dear respected Binaebi Akah Calkins,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem but based on your description we can work together to resolve it.

For the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

As per your description, generally, when we type @ sign before the name in the comments box and users can get a noticed mail. However, Microsoft Teams channel files associated with SharePoint online library, and may I know have you tried click on "Open in SharePoint" in your Team channel and select your Word document file> click on "Alert Me" and type a co-owner to see if the co-owners get email notification.

    .

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
