MS Lists - Create New List from Existing List

Question

Hi there.

The instructions on how to create a list for an existing list do not work in full. It does not copy the original list content. You then have to go back in and create the list again with no option to copy and paste. It makes it redundant as a tool.

If you export the list as an Excel and then import to a new list you loose all of your formatting.

Please create an option to duplicate or copy a list including content.

Thanks for posting in the community and sorry for the inconvenience that happen to you.

Based on the situation, please try the following method and check if it helps.

1. After creating a new list from the existing list, please open the two lists in the browser.
2. You can bulk copy/paste the data from the original list to the new list.

In the original list, please click "Edit in grid view", select all content or select values in one column, press Ctrl+ C to copy, go to the new list, click "Edit in grid view", select the same numbers of cells (make sure there is no cursor in one cell), press Ctrl + V to paste.
