Why does a cell where I assigned a data validated list revert back to no data validation (like it was never assigned) after I close the spreadsheet out?

I have a spreadsheet open, picked a particular cell, and assigned a "Data Validation" list to it. It worked correctly while the spreadsheet was open but when I shut the spreadsheet down and reopen it, the data validation list is no longer assigned to that cell . . . . . . . . it has disappeared.

Could you share a test workbook as attachment in private message?

Also on this troublesome spreadsheet, all the cells that I have added a link to an outside pdf change to plain text when I reopen the spreadsheet . . . . . . . and these links worked prior to closing the spreadsheet down . . . . . . .

Please note that his is not my first rodeo for adding data validation lists or links to outside pdfs . . . . . . . I'm at a loss as to why this particular spreadsheet is giving me problems.

Thanks in advance for any direction or suggestions.

Thanks for the reply but this option setting is already set to "All".

When assigning the data validation list to this cell, I used the pull down menu/tab.

Check if this option is set to noting, change back to ALL.

File>option>advanced>Display option for this workbook>For object, show >Select All.

The cause of the option set to nothing is that you had accidently used Ctrl+6
