Hello,

I am creating original learning material using Microsoft PowerPoint shapes, lines, and colors. I am not using fonts supplied by PowerPoint. Slides will be saved as a PDF format. I’d like to use material with children in a community program and students at my school.

However, I’m also looking into selling the material on Teachers Pay Teachers. I want to double check first if this is permissible?

If acceptable, would I need to reference Microsoft PowerPoint on a credits page of any original material?

I’m using Microsoft PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 MSO, Version 2307. I am assuming it is for home only, because this in my personal computer… but don’t remember the purchase information.

Can you please advise, as I’m getting mixed feedback on the Internet when looking into this.

Thank you. K

Microsoft wants you to have a business license if you're going to use PowerPoint for commercial purposes.

Other than that one requirement, you should be perfectly ok to do what you proposes. And if you're using Office 365, the business version isn't all that much more per month than the home version (though you can only use it on one computer rather than on several as you can with the home version.)

    Thanks so much for clarifying.

It looks like the “Microsoft 365 Business Standard” would be appropriate. Can you kindly confirm if this would be an acceptable business version for PowerPoint? There are multiple options, and I want to make sure I purchase a correct one.

    Thank you.
