Automatic password generation when creating a new user in the admin centre

Hi,

Currently, the password policy when automatically creating passwords for new users in 365 admin centre is set to 3 letters of which 1 is caps and 5 numbers such as Abc12345. Is there a way to customize this? Our mac MDM requires a symbol as well and I'm trying to automate as much of the process as possible. Especially randomising passwords.

Idealy we want 8 characters, 1 caps, 1 number, 2 symbols.

Based on your description, I understand that you need to automatically create an 8-character password with at least (1 caps, 1 number, 2 symbols) for new users.

After thorough tests and consults from my end, it’s been concluded that this is not feasible. An auto generated password will have 8 characters where 3 letters (1 caps) and 5 numbers as you stated. Only way around this is creating the password manually while creating the user. I do understand your need for this, and we do apologize if we are not able to meet your requirements. However, we will surely raise you concerns to our Product Team and hopefully this can be included in the future updates.
