Problem with commas when typing

Hi all,

In OneNote on my Android phone, if I type a word and use auto-complete, then type a comma and a space, and start typing another word, the second word gets combined onto the end of the first one, before the comma.

For example, if I try to type 'Apples, oranges' (using auto-complete for 'Apples'), it comes out as 'Applesoranges,'.

The only workaround I know of is to delete the space and type it again (before typing the second word), and I'd prefer not to have to do this over and over again.

This doesn't happen in Samsung Notes, so it seems to be a problem with OneNote rather than the underlying system.

Does anyone know whether this can be fixed, please?

Hello I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question. There are some general troubleshooting steps you can try to fix issues with the OneNote app on Android. One solution is to clear the app cache and data for OneNote on your Android phone. To do this, go to your phone's Settings, tap on "Apps" or "Application Manager", find OneNote and tap on it, tap on "Storage", then tap on "Clear cache" and "Clear data". After clearing the cache and data, restart your phone and check if the issue still persists. If clearing the cache and data doesn't resolve the issue, you can try reinstalling the OneNote app. To do this, go to the Google Play Store, find OneNote, tap on "Uninstall", restart your phone, then reinstall OneNote from the Google Play Store. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/onenote-android-typing-any-shift-number-or-leads/7026b9a9-100e-4366-a544-35b5a5844d96. I hope this information helps! Regards Adeyemi

Thanks for the suggestions, I have the same issue with all punctuation marks in OneNote. Tried both of these, but problem still persists.

Thanks, Adeyemi. If I clear the cache and data, are you sure this won't delete my notes completely? This seems to have happened for someone else - see here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/lost-onenote-notes-on-android-after-clearing-data/723625c4-faa1-44ac-9c20-ae4eca45a3fa
