    Hi Marcelino,

    Thanks for posting back.

Since the situation only happens in the PowerPoint desktop app, please try to Repair Office and choose Online Repair. After that, please run PowerPoint and check again.

Also, please set Windows into Clean boot and disable all startup items, then check again. Check if the situation is caused by the startup items or not.

If the situation still happens, I would like to collect more information.

    1. I wonder if the situation happens in other Office applications. Please run Word, insert the shape, and check again. If the situation also happens in the Word application, please update the graphics card driver, and then check again.
    2. Please switch to another Windows user profile (if you don’t have another Windows user profile, please create a new Windows user profile, then switch to the new user profile), run PowerPoint, and check again.
    3. Please provide your Office version and subscription information.

Click File> Account, please take a full screenshot of the current interface.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

This kind of problem is almost always related to your computer's video driver.

To test, start PowerPoint in Safe Mode:

    • Press WindowsKey + R
    • Type: POWERPNT.EXE /SAFE (note: powerPNT, not powerPOINT)
    • Press Enter

When PowerPoint starts, try drawing an oval again. If the problem doesn't happen, it indicates that your computer's video driver isn't completely compatible with PowerPoint and should be updated if possible.

    Hi Marcelino,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, before providing suggestions, I would like to collect more information to troubleshoot the situation.

    1. Does the situation happen in the PowerPoint web app (in the browser) or in the PowerPoint desktop app (PowerPoint for Windows)?
    2. I would like to confirm if the situation happens when you insert a built-in "Rectangle: Rounded Corners" via the Insert tab.
    3. If you use the PowerPoint desktop app, does it happen in a specific presentation or all presentations? You can create a new presentation to test.

If it happens in all presentations, please try to set PowerPoint into Safe Mode, then check again.

Close PowerPoint first, press Win + R, in the Run box, type powerpnt /safe, and click OK.

    1. If you use the PowerPoint desktop app, please provide your Office version and subscription information.

Click File> Account, please take a full screenshot of the current interface. After that, please click the "Insert Image" button to upload it.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator
