Troubleshooting application slowness in WVD environment

We have recently implemented a new application into our catalog and the performance of this specific application on RemoteDesktop is extremely bad. For example, once loaded into the application opening a specific screen (which is a new window) can cause the application to enter a "Not Responding" state.

Intuition thinks that it is slow when printing the results from the Session host into the RemoteDesktop app.

When installing the app directly onto a Windows 10 laptop the application performs fine.

I am trying to understand what lower-level investigation can be done to identify the root cause.

Some extra info:

  • Session Hosts (8): Size - Standard D4s v3 , vCPUs - 4, RAM - 16GB, OS - Windows 10 Enterprise for Virtual Desktops.
  • Session limit: 16
  • There are other applications (some much more resource-intensive) that are running on the servers perfectly fine.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

How is the application Installation size is this application too resource heavy ?

It can be slow if there is too much graphics which requires rendering and cashing on while displaying using RDP .

I would also like to suggest public small app like calculator or notepad and see how it works.

If the reply was helpful, please don’t forget to upvote or accept as answer.
