Split from this thread about a build no longer in service.
Just replying to say I often have (and am currently having...) this same problem with Excel tables. I had thought that the tables were optimized for performance as an Excel object, but often hang indefinitely when adding or removing columns.
I'd be very interested in any ways of addressing or mitigating this issue!

You replied to a question about a build of Excel that is no longer in service. Please use the Menu Bar and choose Excel > About Microsoft Excel to display the version number. What version do you use?
