I exported a schedule program into Excel. Date format is 02/26/2024. I want Monday, February 26, 2024. Followed the help instructions in Excel and nothing changed. Will work if I manually retype the date, but not copying or pasting.

    Hi,

That entry is most likely not a proper date - looks like the day and month positions have been interchanged. Select the range of dates (appearing in a single column) and go to Data > Text To Columns. On the third screen, select Date > MDY > Finish. This should change the data type of the entries in that column to Dates. Now you may format the entries in this column.

Excel sees the values as text.

    You can try the following:

    • Select a column with such values.
    • On the Data tab of the ribbon, click Text to Columns.
    • Select Delimited, then click Next > twice.
    • In step 3 of the Text to Columns wizard, select Date and select MDY as format.
    • Click Finish.
