I have a problem with inserting slides from outline, it keeps running forever when I click insert from outline, never opened up file exlporer to locate the outline file in word. I tried to use PPT from other computer/laptop with my office account and it works well. I uninstalled microsoft 365 and reinstalled it on my laptop but the problem is still remained. I also tried to repair online but it doesn't help. It works well in safe mode. Please advise.

    Glad to hear it.

You might want to start adding the add-ins back, one at a time, until you find the one that causes the problem to re-occur. Then you'll know which one is bad and you'll still be able to use the other useful ones.

It works now after I canceled add-ins.

    Thank you so much,

Hi, I removed the app and reinstalled it again and canceled the add-ins and now it works with the function insert slides from outline.

Thank you so much for your suggestions.

    >> It works well in safe mode.

That's a valuable piece of information. Thanks for testing and including that.

One of the things that Safe Mode does is to disable some (or all, depending on Office version) add-ins.

Since Safe Mode fixes the problem, it's reasonable to suspect that the problem is caused by one or more add-ins.

You might want to try disabling add-ins one at a time (or disabling them all then re-adding them one at a time) until you pin down the problem one.

    File | Options | Add-ins

Next to Manage: I'd check COM add-ins first, then PowerPoint add-ins (there are two different types)
