My work computer was updated over the weekend, and I work extensively with embedding PDFs in Excel. Now, I can't embed PDFs in Excel, and I also get the error message "The source program for this object cannot be started." What can I do to resolve this?

    Hi Linda Olsson1,

    Greetings!

Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you need help with embedding PDFs in your Excel. I would like to ask few questions that can help with my research here.

    • May I ask if this file was shared or you created this file?
    • Is there file path that you can see on your PDF?
    • Can you locate the file?
    • Is it happening on other files or new file?

For the meantime, you may try my suggestions below:

    1. Make sure the Excel is up to date.
    2. You can try to recreate the entire file to see if the issue still persist.

We look forward for your response.
