Hi Craig, it is a Microsoft bug. It has been like this for years, Microsoft ignores it. You should not need to do an online repair. Quick repair should fix the problem. If you still have a problem after running Quick repair you can go back and do an online repair, which is a more comprehensive repair and reinstalls Office as part of the process.
Right click on the Windows Start
Apps & Features (top)
In the little search box type>Office (This will bring up your Office from the list of Apps
Click on your Office
Modify
Choose>Quick repair
You can also go to Control Panel
Programs and Features
Right click on your Office
Change
Choose Quick repair
