Can I tell when someone that I shared Onedrive files with looks at the files? And how often they have accessed? Which files they have downloaded?

    Dear Steve Cohen1,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

From your description It seems you want to know track who has viewed and downloade a shared link to a file on OneDrive for Business.

As per your description, track who has viewed a shared link to a file on OneDrive for Business. To do this, you can follow these steps:

1.Go to the OneDrive for Business website and sign in.

    1. Navigate to the file that you shared.
    2. Right-click on the file or folder and select "Details".
    3. In the "Details" pane, check the "Activity" tab.
    4. Here, you will see a list of all the activities related to the file.

    .

Also, using view an Activity Reports from admin center, Microsoft 365 offers various activity reports that can provide insights into user activity, including document access. These reports might include details about who accessed documents, when.

    • And for your other concern to know who downloaded the files on OneDrive

If you you’re an Office 365 admin, then you can get this information though audit logs. To get this information, we recommend you enabling auditing. The best way to get this type of information is the Audit log within Security & Compliance. However, it will only work reliably from the day you enable auditing. It will show data for last 90 days.

To turn auditing on, just click Start recording user and admin activity on the Audit log search page in theSecurity & Compliance Center. (If you don't see this link, auditing has already been turned on for your organization.)

Here’s an article for detailed information: Search the audit log in the Office 365 Security & Compliance Center.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to correct me.

    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
