Editor is suddenly missing

Question

Split from this thread. About something completely different.

I have been using Editor for the past 2 weeks (and numerous times previously) and today it was missing. I searched all the responses I could find online. I logged out and back in again. I edited my toolbar and could only find a way to add it to the QAT. It is now there but it is greyed out.

I am on a Mac Monterey 12.6.7

Using Microsoft 16.77.1 subscription

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update macOS before anything else. Version 12.7 now is available. That may not be the cure but it's usually pointless to troubleshoot if everything isn't updated.

Next, try this: Once you've updated Monterey launch Word then go to Word> Sign Out & restart the Mac. After restarting go to File> New From Template & sign in & restart Word.
