in excel when saving a copy as a pdf it created dotted line breaks and then saves what should be a single page as 18 pages each with a small portion of the excel document. pages in the pdf are consistent with the line breaks. line breaks only appear once i hit "save a copy".

it is as if the size has been increased in excel to what would need multiple pages to print out.. however i have been usin the same origianl file for 2 years with no issues

Hi Conner. I am an Excel user like you.

It seems that there may be a couple pertinent questions. The first is why is Excel dividing it into separate pages, and the second is how to return it to normal.

On the second question, on the Page Layout ribbon in the Page Setup section select Breaks and then Reset All Page Breaks. Hopefully that will remove the dotted lines/page breaks that you see.

The first question seems the more difficult. I would start by checking the other page layout settings including the paper size and margins. If one of those somehow got changed that might explain why Excel is dividing up the pages the way it is.

I have not experienced this problem or seen where anyone else has. So hopefully it is just a simple setting adjustment.

Thank you so much for the help... i did try as you recomended for quite some time. I feel stupid in admiting this but.... after hours of trying to correct the problem(in the same way you recommended) i saw that one of label machines had been set up as the defualt printer for both the pdf viewer and excel. resulting in the sizing issues. Trying to auto size to 4 inch wide media. hopefully no one else is as illiterate as i am with this stuff... but maybe it will save someone some time if i leave it up. thanks again for the reply Rich M
