Microsoft project member adding

Hi, I've planned to buy Microsoft project plan 3 for my construction project (my365 is personal type subscription by the way) . I've tried the trial version of Microsoft project and couldn't add my friends as a team member. I hereby want to ask for a reason as I'm totally unfamiliar with the program,

1). Why I can't add my friend gmail (the personal gmail) as a project member?

2). If my friends have no subscription for Microsoft project plan 3, can they be added as a team member and view all timeline and tasks?
3). In case the 2). is yes, If my friends have no 365 subscription, can they be a team member on my project?

Thank you so much.

    Dear Siriluk Lad,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, it seems that you are trying to invite external user with Gamil account as a project member.

If the understanding above is right, as per the test on our side, we're afraid that there's no out of box way to add Gmail account in Microsoft project currently. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We can add user with Microsoft personal account without license, such as ******@outlook.com as group member and view tasks with permission shared, however, user without license cannot see Timeline in project as shown below:

Project on the user account with license side:

Project on ******@outlook.com user without license side:

Hope the above can help. If the understanding above is not consistent with yours, please feel free to post back and point that.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. We hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Rhoda | Microsoft Community Moderator
