Keep a form response from moving

I have created a form in Microsoft Word. In that form are fillable text boxes. How do I keep the questions from moving when I type in the Legacy Text box?

For instance

Case Manager: (text box) Date: (text Box)

When I fill in the text box the date section of the form moves. I want it to stay where I put it regardless of how long or short the case managers name is. How do I do that?

    Use a Table.

See Paul's second question and the responses in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/help-with-allowing-tab-over-to-a-fillable-text/182211d9-a3f6-45a9-86b8-bfc965e8abe0.

A table can be invisible but still hold positions. You want to format the cell / column width to fixed and not allow wrapping.

    References that may help:

For most purposes, you will be ahead of the game in form development if you use Content Controls rather than legacy form fields. The two should not be mixed in the same template, though.
