Sync Microsoft with Apple using Gmail login

Context: I am trying to sync my Apple Reminders to Microsoft To Do, so that I can add to-dos with Siri (without having to unlock my phone which seems to be required to modify something in a third-party app).

Issue: Based on research online, it is possible to sync the accounts by adding the Microsoft account as an Exchange account. My login for Microsoft is my Gmail address, and when I try to do this, it asks me to provide server information. I did some internet searching and found that this is information that would have to be obtained from "your Exchange administrator". This is a personal account, so I don't have an Exchange administrator. Is it possible to link an O365 personal account to Apple as an account?

Or, if someone knows another way around this issue, please let me know.

Hi, I'm Diane and will be happy to help you today.

Did you create a Microsoft account using the Gmail address? If so you have an outlook.com account - which is hosted in Microsoft exchange.

You need to have a Microsoft account - if you have one using Gmail address, you should be able to log into to-do using it - or add an outlook.com alias to the account and sign in using the outlook.com alias.

Note that you will need to move the reminders into the account - they won't sync automatically. . Add the Microsoft account to the reminders app (easier if you have an outlook.com alias on it) and move the reminders to the outlook.com account.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
