While typing an assignment the format is changing. When I hit the space bar on a current line wording on the next line is automatically back spacing. I have been stuck trying to fix this for 5 hours.

Could you upload a couple of screen shots which show before and after, so that we can get a clearer view of the symptoms?

    Hi Courtney S

I’m Segunfunmi, an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thanks for posting the query here in this forum.

It sounds like you might be experiencing an issue with the AutoFormat As You Type settings in Microsoft Word. You can stop Word from changing formatting automatically in your documents by turning off AutoFormat As You Type settings in the AutoCorrect dialogue box.

To turn off AutoFormat As You Type options, you can follow these steps:

    1. Click the File tab in the Ribbon.
    2. Click Options. A dialogue box appears.
    3. In the categories on the left, select Proofing.
    4. Click AutoCorrect. A dialogue box appears.
    5. Select the Autoformat As You Type Tab.
    6. Deselect or uncheck the desired options (such as Ordinals with superscripts, Hyphens with a dash or Fractions with fraction characters).
    7. Click OK twice.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Kind regards segunfunmi
