Microsoft 365 changed Languages

On our PC, MS often confuses my account with my wife's. Her account is in Japanese language. Now my 365 account is displaying in Japanese (not the files I have saved but the display page itself). How do I get it back to English? All YouTube videos say go to settings gear icon, and select language and time zone but this option is not available.

    Hello Ray,

    Thanks for the details.

Incase if this happens in future, try below steps to clear the cache and try accessing your account.

    1. Close all office apps and sign out of the account
    2. Clear browser cache and cookies
    3. Do a safe reboot. You can start Safe Mode using the F8 key during start up.
    4. Remove the credential details of the personal account from "Credential manager". Go to: Control Panel\User Accounts\Credential Manager
    5. Try to an online repair. Go to Control Panel /> Under Programs, click Uninstall a Program /> spot Microsoft Office, right-click on it and select Change. Go with Quick Repair or Online Repair accordingly to fix the problem

    Thank & Regards, Ravikumar

    Hi Ravi

Thank you for your assistance. In the end I closed both accounts (mine and my wife's) and rebooted the PC. Then only opening one account at a time seems to have solved the proble.

As a comment however, I did follow your instructions above but Language was not an option for me in the Review tab in the Word document.

    Regards and thank you again,

    Ray

    Hello Ray,

Thank you for reaching out to this forum. I'm Ravi, just like you, a fellow Microsoft user and I'm here to help you with your question today.

Could you please check the language proofing on word setting?

    1. Click or tap where you're going to add text, or select the text that you want to mark as a different language, and then do one of the following:
    2. On the Review tab select Language > Language Preferences.
    3. Under Office authoring languages and proofing, select the language you want to use.
    4. Select OK.

Hope this information would be useful to you. Please feel free to get back if you need any additional info.
