Hello,

After going half a week without the caption function, I finally got it back, I hoped. When editing a video on john mayer, I wanted to turn on the caption but it started to transcribe the wrong audio. I have tried all possible things like turning off the captions and going on other video's, but it just does not want to work. I have tried the help function for clipchamp, but that only takes you to a page filled with useless info related to my problem.

Can someone please fix this issue that I know a lot of people have with the caption function.

Greatly Appreciated Simon Peters

    Hi Simon,

In addition to the suggestions Adeyemi mentioned I also wanted to add the suggestions from the troubleshooting part of our support article about the captioning feature:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-use-autocaptions-ccb0520b-38f6-4fa9-aca8-872c2964946a#bkmk_troubleshooting.

If you notice the feature isn't working with a specific input file, converting that file (e.g. m4a to mp3 or WebM to MP4) and importing the new file version into Clipchamp can help. There are good open-source converters available online, such as Handbrake for video or Audacity for audio.

    Regards,

    Tobias

    Hello

I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

I understand that you're having trouble with the caption function in ClipChamp. This seems to be a common issue, and there are several potential solutions that you could try.

One user reported that the auto caption feature got stuck and found that deleting the media from the media bin and re-adding it helped. https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/5493dd3b-d748-48a3-aea8-5ce8d0179566

Another user suggested exporting the video first without the caption, then uploading the exported video again, and finally adding the caption. https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/b9fb9594-a05d-4ec9-85c3-b9c31ca5a296

    I hope this helps.
