When I am looking for something that I know that I have in my Onedrive.com account I will enter only part of the name because I don't know the entire name. The search results come up empty.

Everything I type is correct. I have no filters. It does this on every browser I use. I use Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.

    Hello LiamAstle,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

If the search function on OneDrive isn't returning the expected results, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to address the issue:

    1. Check your search query: Make sure you're using the correct keywords or part of the name you're searching for. Double-check for any typos or misspellings in your search query.
    2. Wait for indexing: OneDrive needs to index the contents of your account to provide accurate search results. Sometimes, it might take some time for the indexing process to complete, especially if you've recently added or modified files. Give it some time and try the search again later.
    3. Use advanced search operators: OneDrive supports certain advanced search operators that can help refine your search. For example, you can use quotation marks to search for an exact phrase or use the "OR" operator to search for multiple terms.
    4. Check your filters: Make sure you don't have any filters applied that might be excluding the files you're searching for. Check if any filters, such as file type or date modified, are affecting your search results.
    5. Clear browser cache: If you're accessing OneDrive through a web browser, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes, cached data can interfere with the proper functioning of the search feature.
    6. Use a different device or browser: If the issue persists, try accessing OneDrive from a different device or using a different web browser. This can help determine if the problem is specific to a particular device or browser.
    7. Check sharing settings: Ensure that the files you're searching for are accessible to your account. If they are shared with you by another user, check the sharing settings to ensure they haven't been removed or modified

    Best Regards, Shalom
