Hello all, I work for an enterprise organization that utilizes share point and OneDrive.

We have one user who cannot access files that are shared with him or with the organization.

He receives a permission denied message which a dialogue box to request access.

This happens with multiple documents.

I've checked everything I can think of:

I've cleared web cache, tried multiple browsers, had him sign out of other accounts.

He does show up as a user on the list of people with access.

He has the appropriate licensing (E5) and Share Point license within that.

He wasn't a previously deleted and recreated user, his username is unique.

I've tested his access with the diagnostic tool and it says he is missing a view only permission, but he does show up on the list of people with view permissions.

I've been racking my brain all day trying to think about what it might be.

    Dear Jared Jarvis,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, a specific user who has the right license and permission can't access shared files in SharePoint. And you have tried some methods, the problem persists.

Given this situation, we assume that the problem may be related to the backend, more resources need to be involved on the issue in your environment. I suggest you follow the steps in the article to open a ticket, this is the most efficient way to fix the issue in your environment. Because the engineers in related team have higher permission and more resource than us to help check it from background and collect the log remotely, and they will continue to investigate this issue further and provide suggestion for you.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Jazlyn | Microsoft Community Moderator
