Authenticator app puts me in a loop requesting to re-enable phone sign-in

Something changed with my account and I can't get into my outlook or xbox. I use the Authenticator app but recently the app states that I need to re-enable phone sign-in after multiple attempts to approve requests.

It keeps going in a loop and I can't get my phone to re-enable. I've already answered the multiple pages of questions (which didn't help) so, how do I get past this?

Horrible experience...might have to start using Okta or a competitor for an easy solution such as this.

Greetings! Thank you for reaching out to this forum. I'm Ravi, just like you, a fellow Microsoft user and I'm here to help you with your question today.

Could you please try to use any alternate verification method like email ? If you able to use email option, please try to disable MFA temporarily.

You will have option like "other ways to sign" or "I don't have access to my Microsoft Authenticator App"

    1. Go to the Security basics page and sign in with your Microsoft account. https://account.microsoft.com/security
    2. Select More security options.
    3. Under Two-step verification, choose Set up two-step verification to turn it on, or choose Turn off two-step verification to turn it off.
