One Note Not Working In Edge

I am Stephen Gheen, returning a reply to my first case report. First, in my case, the problem has not been resolved.

I will answer the same questions that asked of Paul_TOPAZ, who reported a problem similar to mine.

Unlike Paul, my OneDrive does NOT work IN Private mode.

I am using MS Edge Version 116.0.1938.54 (Official build) (64-bit)

I just tried to Booknote the same site as I tried in Edge above and got this error message:

Usid: 2f5d62fd-d8a2-84a7-16cd-b544efc78198

There are no pending updates, and MS Edge reports that it is up to date.

In response to my initial report, MS answered by recommending these steps to obtain a resolution:

  1. Clear cashe and cookies: Been there before, done that, not a solution.
  2. Disable other extensions that may be interfering. Other than Clipper I have only Robo Form. Disabling it is not a solution.
  3. Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Edge installed on your computer. You mentioned this option in your first three above. See the answer residing there.
  4. Try using the OneNote Web Clipper in a different browser to see if the issue persists. You mentioned this option in your first three above. See the answer residing there.

5. If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting Microsoft Edge to its default settings. This can be done by going to the Settings menu of your browser, selecting Reset settings, and then selecting Restore settings to their default values. This is does not resolve the problem.

In summation, the initial directives were ineffective, as reported by other community members.

Might I suggest that you take control over my computer and see if you can resolve the problem. I had assumed that the error code I sent, and the one above, would identify the problem. No?

I look forward to your reply and some effective assistance.

I will contact MS support tomorrow morning, even though I do not understand why you could not alert them to the problem and, perhaps, provide examples of other people who have written about this problem.

I will let you know if contacting them resolves my continuing problem.

    Good afternoon.

In reply to your email above.

#1. I uninstalled and reinstalled ON Web Clipper. It DID NOT resolve the problem.

#2. Checked for updates, and there were none reported.

#3. Disabled all other extensions had no impact on the problem.

#4. Used WC in Google Chrome, WC did not work in that context.

If you read my previous posts, I provided error messages and codes.

As another member noted, this problem seemed to appear after the last Windows 11 update, and the problem appears not just related to my computer.

Thank you and I look forward to a response with some assistance.

    Hi StephenGheen

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community.

I understand that you are still experiencing issues with OneNote not working in Edge despite trying the recommended steps. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Regarding your suggestion to take control of your computer, please note that here in Microsoft Community support does not have the capability to remotely access customers' computers. However, I will do my best to provide you with some effective solutions to resolve the issue.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the issue may be related to the OneNote Web Clipper extension. Here are some additional steps you can try:

    1. Uninstall and reinstall the OneNote Web Clipper extension in Edge. To do this, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of Edge, select Extensions, find the OneNote Web Clipper extension, and click on Remove. Then, go to the Microsoft Store and reinstall the extension.
    2. Check if there are any updates available for the OneNote Web Clipper extension. To do this, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of Edge, select Extensions, find the OneNote Web Clipper extension, and click on Details. If there are any updates available, click on Update.
    3. Try disabling all other extensions in Edge except for the OneNote Web Clipper extension. To do this, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of Edge, select Extensions, and toggle off all extensions except for the OneNote Web Clipper extension.
    4. Try using the OneNote Web Clipper extension in a different browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, to see if the issue persists.

If none of the above steps work, please let me know and we can explore other options. Additionally, if you have any error messages or codes that appear when you try to use the OneNote Web Clipper extension, please provide them to me so I can further investigate the issue.

There may be a technical issue that requires further investigation. I recommend contacting Microsoft support for further assistance since they do have more advance tools and can do remote to your PC. You can find their contact information on the Microsoft support website.
