SharePoint ALERT ME setup

I can setup an alert when something changes on a file I created, but I cannot set the details option to see EXACTLY what was changed. The notification only tells me that SOMETHING Changed. Do I need special permissions to get the details of exactly what changed.

    Hello!

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you

To receive detailed information about what was changed in a file, you need to have the appropriate permissions to view the file's version history. If you have the necessary permissions, you can view the version history of the file and see the changes that were made. However, if you do not have the necessary permissions, you will only receive a notification that something has changed without any further details.

The specific changes will not appear in the email, but you can view the changes through this feature.

    I hope this helps!

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator
