Cannot reimage computer due to write protection

I had my computer no longer recognizing my drives for boot (I can still see their data via winpe cmd or booting to linux off a usb). All forms of reformatting or reimaging come back with an error stating that the device is write protected. I have tried to format the drive using diskpart, chkdsk, regedit, and windows media creation tool menus, and have even tried installing Ubuntu over the device in order to clear the drive and format it, none of which has worked. Please advise me how I can remove the write protection in order to wipe, recover and/or reimage my drives.

Hi Doa, I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor here to help you. Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Write protection is a common symptom of disk failure. As you said, you tried everything and it has not worked, likely your disk needs to be replaced. You may want to contact the computer manufacturer for the next steps.

I hope this helps, and rely upon us for any other enquiries.
