My OneNote pen ink is acting weird. I set the ink color to Dark Blue (#00526B Hex Code), but when I export it as a PDF, it shows the ink color as Light Blue (#33CCFF Hex Code). I have to manually go in and change it. Could someone please help? Thanks!

    Dear Kenji1484,

Thanks for posting back and confirming the scenario with us.

We'd also like to confirm if you are using a personal account, or a work/school account provided by your organization?

Meanwhile, considering that different ink color appears when opening same notebook in web app, please check if Online repair can help.

For your reference: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

Please also try deleting registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OneNote to check the outcome.

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Edit at your own risk. We’ll suggest you, before making any change in the registry, please back up your Registry.

Please also check if creating a new notebook in OneNote web app and open in desktop app can reproduce the same situation.

If the suggestion above doesn’t work, please also try using a new user profile in Windows to check if it helps, this can help narrow down if this issue is related to old user profile. Create a local user or administrator account in Windows (microsoft.com)

    Best Regards,

    1. I am using the OneNote desktop app. If I write in that ink on the OneNote desktop app, it will appear in a different ink color on the web app.
    2. The issue does not occur on Word.
    3. I don't know about other people.

    Dear Kenji1484,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, it seems that you are having issue with OneNote Pen Ink, showing in different color when exporting to PDF.

If the understanding above is right, we've also done a quick test in OneNote within M365 in version 2308, and we cannot reproduce a similar situation on our side, below attached is the screenshot of our test for your reference:

    Image

Given this, to help you better, we would like to collect more detailed information you're experiencing so that we can have a further investigation:

    1. Are you using OneNote desktop app or OneNote online web app in browser? Will they encounter a similar situation?
    2. Will the same issue occur if you draw in other Office apps such as Word, and export to PDF?
    3. What about the other people in your organization, do they encounter the same situation as yours?
    4. Please also share a screenshot of the Office version as shown below by opening OneNote desktop app within M365 > File > Account Image

Welcome to post back when you have any update, we will continue doing best to assist you.

If the understanding above is not consistent with yours, please feel free to post back and point that.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. We hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
