Error while setting up Email Parameters in D365fo

When I try to add the username and password in email parameters and test the connection in D365 it shows me the following error although my username and password are correct.

Mail authentication failed. Please verify your SMTP user name and password. If your SMTP server doesn't support authentication, please clear the SMTP user name and password. Server smtp.office365.com:587 using SSL/TLS supports the following authentication options: LOGIN, XOAUTH2.

How can I make it work?
