I am using my MacBook Air Work Laptop. Cells in Excel (version 16.80) automatically add hyperlinks when I type in them so I would like to fix that; I would also like to know how to remove current hyperlinks from text. I did it once before and cannot remember, now I want to change the settings.

    Hello Hagen,

I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Here's a simple guide for your Excel tasks on your MacBook Air:

    1. To Remove Existing Hyperlinks:
      • Select the cell(s) with the hyperlink.
      • Right-click (or Ctrl+click) and choose "Remove Hyperlink."
    2. To Stop Excel from Automatically Creating Hyperlinks:
      • Go to Excel's "Preferences."
      • Find "AutoCorrect" or "AutoFormat As You Type" (the exact name might vary).
      • Uncheck the option that automatically creates hyperlinks for website and email addresses.

This will remove existing hyperlinks and prevent Excel from automatically creating new ones in your documents.

    I hope this helps

    Best Regards, Ibhadighi
