OneDrive - Files with Syncing issues.

Dear Specialists,

Hope you are fine!

I have some troubles with the OneDrive syncronization (I´am actually using Office365).

When the cross off the sync status appear, I understand it´s due to the PC has a temp file that doesn´t match the file in the cloud.

To fix that, I create a copy of the temp file and erase it (because I know there one is the correct file).

So, I wonder if there is any chance to erase those temp files in a batch to solve the conflicts all at once?

Best regards,

Marco.

    Dear Marco,

Thanks for writing back and updating with us. Apologies for the delay in the response.

IMO, the temp files will be created when you are working with the Office file on the Office apps, where these temp files will be deleted automatically after save the Office file and these temp files will be helpful during the sudden power outage or unexpected shutdown of Office apps, where it will help to recover the data which is not saved.

Moreover, OneDrive synced folder will not have two files with the same name and if the files are with the different name but the same content, then there won’t be any issue. However, if you are having the sync issues because of the temp files, you can manually remove those temp files and reset your OneDrive sync client: Reset OneDrive - Microsoft Support

If there is any misunderstanding from our end, we apologize and request you to share more details with some screenshots of the problem which will help us to better understand and guide you further.

Appreciate your patience and understanding with us. Have a good weekend ahead!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia,

thank you for your insight, however I think my issue is different.

Just to verify, when the status of the syncing has an error it´s due to the PC has two versions of the same file. Right?

    Best regards,

    Marco.

    Dear Marco Manfredi,

    Good day!!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.

I understand your concern and to my knowledge, there is no tool or setting in the OneDrive sync client to erase the temp files in a batch, but you can use the filter feature in the File Explorer of the OneDrive synced folder:

Open your File Explorer> Go to OneDrive synced folder> Click on the drop-down arrow beside the Status and Type> Select the Sync status and temp at the file types> You can use Ctrl + A to select all items or press Ctrl and select the files> Move to trash.

    .

If it didn’t helps, we apologize and would like to let you know that you need to manually select the files to delete them.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia
