I have authenticator but the code does not appear visible. The countdown timer is there but the space next to it is blank. It did not used to be like that. What am I missing?

Hello Kirrwed, thanks for coming into forums. I'm Myk, an Independent Advisor and I'll be more than happy to help you.

What happens after tapping the Facebook account listed within the Authenticator app?

Also, can you be able to provide a screenshot of the Authenticator app icon itself?

Meanwhile, please try to check if there's any pending apps update by following the steps below:

    • Open Google Play Store
    • Tap on your profile at the top right > Go to Manage apps and device
    • Check for updates and Update all pending apps in it.
    • Restart your Mobile phone afterwards

If you require any further information, then please don’t hesitate to get in contact. I will be more than happy to assist you further.

    Kind Regards, Myk

When tapping the FB account it just gives a bit more detail but the code is still invisible. App is up to date. Below is a screenshot of the screen after tapping the FB account and the app icon.

    Hello Kirrwed,

Thank you for the additional information. To confirm, can you still login to your Facebook account? Or not at all, due to the Authenticator app not showing code?

If you can still login to your account using a different authentication method, you may remove, and re-add the Facebook account from the Authenticator app for further isolation, since the app is already up to date.

    1. Open the Facebook app and tap on the three horizontal lines in the upper right-hand corner. Then, tap on Settings & Privacy, and then choose Settings.
    2. Select Security and Login.
    3. Tap on Use two-factor authentication.
    4. Choose the option to turn 2FA on > Turn if Off
    5. Remove the Facebook account from Authenticator app
    6. Uninstall, and re-install Authenticator app
    7. Turn On Two-factor authentication again to re-add the Facebook account in the Authenticator app

    Kind Regards, Myk

So when I go into the app on my phone where I am logged into FB, I get to the screen where you pick "Choose an account to set up two-factor authentication". There are two accounts that appear - my main and another one. So I click on my main account and it again asks for the code from the Authenticator app. Which of course is invisible. And I remain stuck in an endless inability to either login on the one device and not allowed to change the settings on the device I'm already logged into. It's just horrible technology that doesn't work. Just awful.
