How do I get Analytic Solver and Data Mining as Excel Ad-Ons through Analytic Solver Cloud on my Mac?

I have been trying for hours to figure this out -- I was told I need Analytic Solver Cloud in order to use the Analytic Solver and Data Mining add-ons in the Mac version of Excel. The instructions say "go to the Microsoft store and search for 'Analytic Solver' and 'Data Mining' and select GET IT NOW." I've been unsuccessful in locating either possibly from user error or because the instructions are too vague. If anyone could direct me to the correct place (URL to the store where I can find both add-ons or better instructions all together) I would be so so so grateful!!

Hello Matt Q, thanks for coming into forums. I'm Myk, an Independent Advisor and I'll be more than happy to help you.

Analytic Solver and Data Mining (formerly known as XLMiner) are primarily Windows-based Excel add-ins. Solver and XLMiner are products offered by Frontline Systems. However, the availability of these tools on Mac might be limited.

Here are steps you can follow to check if these tools are available for Mac:

    Analytic Solver Cloud:

Visit the Analytic Solver Cloud website: https://www.solver.com/solver-cloud

Check the system requirements or contact Frontline Systems support to inquire about Mac compatibility.

If compatible, you may be able to use Solver Cloud directly through a web browser on your Mac.

    Solver for Excel on Mac:

    1. The traditional Solver add-in for Excel may not be available for Mac. However, Microsoft has its own Solver tool in Excel for Mac that you can enable.
    2. In Excel for Mac, go to Tools > Add-ins and check if Solver is available. If not, you might need to install it separately. You can often find Solver in the Office Add-ins section.
    3. Keep in mind that the built-in Solver for Excel on Mac may have some limitations compared to the Windows version.

    XLMiner for Mac:

    1. As of my last update, XLMiner (now Data Mining) is more closely associated with Windows versions of Excel.
    2. Check the Frontline Systems website for any updates or announcements regarding Mac compatibility.

You may also Contact Frontline Systems Support directly to check for Mac compatibility: https://www.solver.com/how-may-we-help-you

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP(Potentially Unwanted Products). Thouroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download or install it.

    @ Myk

    What are you talking about?

FALSE: "Analytic Solver and Data Mining (formerly known as XLMiner) are primarily Windows-based Excel add-ins."

These add-ins are for Excel Mac and Excel Windows.
