Hi,

          I work in Excel daily and I need to speed up the scrolling, left to right and right to left, process due to a huge number of columns. Now I use Enter to navigate on right but for left left(I have to leave the mouse to catch the left arrow of the keyboard)

Please help me to set a shortcut, I would like something like "Left Shift + Scroll".

My Excel user profile: Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2208 Build 16.0.15601.20796) 64-bit.

How can I configure a desired shortcut?

Best Regards,

Matthew

    Ctrl+shift+mouse wheel

    Up to go left, down to go right.

    You may also try macro. You need two macros. One for left and one for right.

    Note: Shortcut key must use Ctrl+letter or Ctrl+Shift+letter , I use ctrl+J and ctrl+K in your scenario.

    Sub HorizontalScrollRight()

    ActiveWindow.SmallScroll ToRight:=1

    End Sub

    Sub HorizontalScrollLeft()

    ActiveWindow.SmallScroll ToLeft:=1

    End Sub

    Hi Matthew, See if the below works. It is not my work! Please let me know how you get on.

    You can configure a shortcut key for horizontal scrolling in Excel by following these steps:

    1. Click on the File tab in Excel and select Options.
    2. In the Excel Options dialog box, select the Advanced tab.
    3. Scroll down to the "Display options for this workbook" section and check the box next to "Allow editing directly in cells".
    4. Click on the OK button to save the changes.
    5. Press the Alt key on your keyboard and then press the F11 key to open the Visual Basic Editor.
    6. In the Visual Basic Editor, click on Insert and select Module.
    7. In the new module, paste the following code:

    Sub HorizontalScroll()

    ActiveWindow.SmallScroll ToRight:=1

    End Sub

    1. Close the Visual Basic Editor.
    2. Click on the File tab and select Options.
    3. In the Excel Options dialog box, select the Customize Ribbon tab.
    4. Click on the Customize button next to "Keyboard shortcuts".
    5. In the "Categories" list, select "Macros".
    6. In the "Commands" list, select "Module1.HorizontalScroll".
    7. Click on the "Press new shortcut key" box and press the keys you want to use as the shortcut (e.g. Left Shift + Scroll).
    8. Click on the "Assign" button and then click on the "Close" button.
    9. Click on the OK button to save the changes.

    Now you can use the shortcut key you assigned to scroll horizontally in Excel.
