Merging two docs as chapters

I have 2 Word docs and each have footnotes. (I also have four more that will require a similar process but for now it´s just these two.) Eventually I need to combine them all into one document. How to I take the second doc, add it to the first so that the footnotes simply continue?

    You should be able to just copy and paste the content from one document into the other.

    You can always test it, using document copies of course, and see for yourself what end result you will get.
