Account Issue

I have an MS office 365 account. I can go on line, see my documents and use them. Had this for many years. Something changed last week.

When I try to use my MacBook Air and go into MS 365 applications I see the key to activate the account. When I try to restore account by following "log into existing account " in using the address and pw that works on line, I get unknown error - code 0x0. I have ensured IoS is current, and tried this in different applications, (word, ppt etc ). the message says unable to activate MS365 please try later. I have been trying for 2 days !. This issue has arisen over the last week. My account is valid and paid for - My wife has given up and created a new MS account (Good for you , NOT good for us). I have tried many ways to get in.

I do have business accounts on my Mac - these work. I have logged out of these before I try to login to personal account

Sometime when I try to log in it looks like it has gone through (no error message ) but I can't see my documents and when I go to one drive (which does work) and try to open the documents it then wants me to log in .

Hi, I have just tried going in through my work MS account, which has continued to work. If I go in through my work account, and then try to log into my one drive to see my files, this works. In order to get access to one drive I have to put in my personal ID and PWD. The problem arises when I am not logged in through my work account.

    Hi Leo

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the support

Unfortunately I can't download this tool directly - the Mac won't allow it because it does not come from the Apple Store. I have searched the apple store and it is not available there. I am still in the place of paying for a licence but no access to any MS applications. This is now getting to be a serious problem

I don't know exactly when the problem arose, but it may not coincidence that my work IT team put another layer of security on access to our iPhones. Notwithstanding, the issue with MS, as it is their account that I can't access.

    Hi D M,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Leo, a user just like you. I'd be happy to help you with your concern.

It seems that your account with the Office license wasn't recognized. May I know what changes that was made that might be causing the issue? Is it suddenly occurs? For this issue, I recommend trying to using the license removal tool so that it will remove the current installed license. To do this, follow the steps below:

"1. Download the license removal tool via https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=849815 2. Open the .pkg file from your Mac's Downloads folder. 3. Select Continue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard. 4. When you're ready to complete the license removal, select Install. You may need to enter your Mac's local admin account password.

After the tool successfully removes licenses, select Close.

    1. Uninstall the License Removal Tool by dragging the Microsoft_Office_License_Removal file from Finder > Downloads to Trash."

I pulled the above steps from Official Microsoft Support website. For reference, here's the link below:

Once you have done it, try again using your account to activate Office. In case it won't work, other users have stated that they are able to log in using another alias, such as a mobile number connected to their account. I recommend trying this and checking if you are able to log in. If not, you can also create a new alias [https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489).](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489%29.) You can add either an email ending with "@outlook.com" or a mobile number, then set it as primary and try using it to log in. I hope it works on your end. In case the issue still persists, please let us know so that we can provide further assistance. We, the community users, are always here to help.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope I provided a helpful information regarding your concern! Let me know if you have any further questions. Be safe always!

    Best Regards,

    Leo
