Issue accessing OneDrive alias

Hello community,

I hope someone can help me with a OneDrive issue I've been facing. I have two personal accounts on OneDrive for Mac—one with my regular email and another with an alias that the Microsoft team had me create a few months ago when I was having trouble accessing my account.

Recently, I had to reinstall the Mac operating system (Sonoma 14.2.1). After reinstalling, when I log in to OneDrive, it only allows me to access my main OneDrive account with the regular email. Even if I try to add the OneDrive alias, it only lets me log into the primary account. As a result, I'm unable to access the files saved in the alias account in the past few months, which were crucial for me.

I'd appreciate any guidance on how I can successfully log in to the OneDrive alias and retrieve my files.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi, I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.

Is the alias a brand new account or an alias added to your existing OneDrive account?

If its one account with 2 aliases, all files are in the existing OneDrive, regardless of which alias was signed in to upload.

If it is a totally separate account, you can only be logged into one personal account in the app at a time. You'll need to unlink the existing account and link the new account.

To verify if they are one account, log into https://account.live.com/names/manage - are both addresses listed?

Let me know how it goes, I'm here to help you further if needed.
