I have a table in Word that has duplicated. The entire table (5 rows) has duplicated to the next page. When I edit a row on the first table, it also appears in the second table. If I delete a row in the first table, the entire second table disappeared.

It sounds like you have the entire table marked as being header rows.

I had a repeating table. Turned out to be a header row problem. I deleted all the content in the first row, then entered it back in again. Magically, my table stopped duplicating itself.

If the issue was that too many rows were marked as repeated table headers, you can turn off that setting. There is no need to delete the table contents.

You can select all table rows in a table. Note that the option for repeated header may be activated for more than one table row but not necessarily for all rows in the selection, and therefore you may have to click the Repeat Header Rows icon twice to turn off the option for the whole selection. You can tell that the button loses its shading which means a deactivated option.
