Just what it this account?

I never set it up.

It cannot be accessed by me.

I never set up a password for it.

I do NOT want it and yet is is always in my MS 365 applications and causes no end of headaches.

How do I get rid of it so that it NEVER appears again?

And lastly, why would MS EVER set up something do ridiculous? I do not have time to waste on this kind of stuff.

Thanks

Trevor

    Hi Trevor G

I am an Independent Advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

I did some research for you and found this online reference that may work in your case:

https://www.itechtics.com/disable-microsoft-account/ Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

Before you make any changes to your registry, make sure you backup the registry (and important files and documents on your computer).

Please let me know if that helped.

    Regards

    Casper

    1. The computer is not shared.
    2. No one else has access.
    3. Yes I can sign out.

The issues is that I have NO IDEA where the account came from in the first place. And no matter how many times I sign out of it, it reappears like a bad dream.

My opinion is the MS 365 has become WAY TOO <removed> complex for most people. And I am extremely computer literate.

ALL I WANT TO DO IS TO GET RID OF THIS*<removed>*ACCOUNT FOREVER AND TO NEVER HAVE IT SHOW UP AGAIN. A SIMPLE REQUEST.

I understand that you are having trouble removing an account from your Microsoft Office applications that you no longer recognize.

    1. Is the PC shared by any other person in your organization or the within the family members?
    2. Does anyone have access to this device?
    3. Do you have the option to sign-out from that particular account on the Office applications like this (see image 1)?

    1. Could you please check the accounts added to the PC by going into,

    a. Click Start > Settings > Accounts > E-mail and accounts. b. Make sure your account is only displayed. c. If you see any other accounts listed, Select Remove account.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.
