Dear User,
Good day!!
Apologies for the inconvenience caused and please don’t worry, let’s work together on your concern and move towards a resolution path.
I understand your concern and would like to confirm whether you have synced the SharePoint Online Document Library to your File Explorer and encountered with the error when opening the files from the synced Document Library folder in the File Explorer.
If my understanding is correct, I would like to confirm whether the synced Document Library is connected with the OneDrive sync client:
Click on the OneDrive icon in the Windows taskbar> Help & Settings> Settings> Account> Check whether the Document Library synced is connected:
If yes, please try to follow the below suggestions (and check the outcome:
Suggestion 1:
Click on the OneDrive sync client in the Windows taskbar> Help & Settings> Quit OneDrive> Restart your device> Search for OneDrive in the Windows Search and click on it> Now check whether you are able to open the files in the synced Document Library.
If the above suggestion didn’t work, please try the below suggestion 2:
Reset the OneDrive sync client and try to access the files in the synced Document Library : Reset OneDrive - Microsoft Support
If both suggestions didn’t work, please follow the below steps:
Step 1: Click on the OneDrive icon in the task bar> Help & Settings> Settings> Account> Make sure to unlink any Office 365 account connected to OneDrive sync (synced Document Libraries also) including personal OneDrive. (If there is no account linked to OneDrive sync client, please continue with Step 2).
Step 2: Quit OneDrive sync client> Uninstall the OneDrive sync client (Turn off, disable, or uninstall OneDrive - Microsoft Support)
Step 3: Open the File Explorer> C drive> Users> Folder with the user profile having the problem> AppData> Local> OneDrive> Move the Cache folder to Desktop> Go back to Local folder path> Go to Microsoft folder> OneDrive> Move the complete folders to Desktop location.
Step 4: Go to the Control Panel> User Accounts> Credential Manager> Windows Credentials> Remove/Delete identities related to OneDrive.
Step 5: Restart the PC> Install the OneDrive sync client (OneDrive release notes - Microsoft Support – download and install the latest Production version)> Setup the user account on the OneDrive sync client> Sync the Document Library from SharePoint Online> Check the behavior.
Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!!
Best Regards,
Sophia
