How to fix "Too many file"

I'm getting an error message "There are too many files in our "One-Drive - (name of account)" Please remove files from your "OneDrive". I've only used 25% of the 260GM storeage space. What do I need to do to fix this please?

    As per your description, you are having issue with OneDrive sync, error prompts that "too many files"

    If the understanding above is right, generally, as per the official article shared, for better sync performance, it is recommended to sync no more than a total of 300.000 files across the cloud storage.

    Given this, please check if the file count exceeds the limitation, if yes, please reduce the file count accordingly.

    If not, please check if Reset OneDrive - Microsoft Support, Change the location of your OneDrive folder - Microsoft Support, rename the folder, move files out and move back in can help.

    If you want to view the number of files, we'd recommend you navigate to the site content page by adding "_layouts/15/viewlsts.aspx?view=14" to the URL to check item count as shown below:
