Documents page as homepage for SharePoint site?

Hello,

I would need to change the home page for the SP site.

I can create them in the pages subfolder, but I don't know how to create a homepage that loads the documents.

I see. However, I found that if I view the documents and copy the link, it can be used elsewhere. But why doesn't it work when I set it as the homepage URL?

From your screenshot, it's a default Document Library for this site, not a site page. They are different, and a Document Library can't be made as a homepage for a SharePoint site.

SharePoint Library: A SharePoint library is a specialized list specifically designed to store, organize, and manage documents and other files. While it shares many features with lists (such as columns and views), it offers additional functionality tailored to document management.

SharePoint Page: A SharePoint page is like a canvas where you can display information, such as text, images, links, lists, and libraries, in a user-friendly format. You can customize pages to create dashboards, report centers, or just general content pages that might contain web parts linking to other SharePoint components.

If you want to show documents on the homepage, you can Use the Document Library web part - Microsoft Support.

Of course. There is only one page in Site Pages, so I need to create it. I tried using the URL but it doesn't work.

Generally, we could make another page as homepage via selecting the page and clicking "Make homepage" option in the menu, you can check the below screenshot:

However, you mentioned "Documents page", could you please provide a screenshot of your page in the Site Pages library for us?
