Are there plans to develop more certifications?

I am working as a .NET developer and am interested in getting some certifications and CPE, but all certifications even lightly touching on .NET and C# have all been retired. Are there plans to re-introduce these certifications or create new ones? It seems like 50% of certifications on the site that are posted got retired 8 months ago.
