I installed the MS Office (Excel, Word, etc...) on my Mac a few years ago. I have a new Microsoft 365 personal subscription. Now I want to log in with my new account but unfortunately, it doesn't work. I got the next error message:

This username may be incorrect. Make sure that you typed it correctly. Otherwise, contact your admin.

Error Code: 50058

Hi Janos G,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Leo, a user just like you. I'd be happy to help you with your concern.

May I know if the account you are using is a personal or corporate account? Upon checking the screenshot you have provided, it seems that your account wasn't recognized. Other users have stated that they are able to log in using another alias, such as a mobile number connected to their account. I recommend trying this and checking if you are able to log in. If not, you can also create a new alias [https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489).](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=529489%29.) You can add either an email ending with "@outlook.com" or a mobile number, then set it as primary and try using it to log in. I hope it works on your end. In case the issue still persists, please let us know so that we can provide further assistance. We, the community users, are always here to help.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope I provided a helpful information regarding your concern! Let me know if you have any further questions. Be safe always!

Best Regards,

Leo

    Hi Leo,

Thank you for your response! I followed your advice and added my phone number as an alias to my account. This resolved the issue, and I was able to successfully log in using my phone number.

    I appreciate your assistance.

    Best regards,

    Janos
